Vinted Users Express Anger Regarding Sizing Modifications
Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size.
The popular resale platform has altered its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all users about the change.
Social Media Response
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category than originally posted because of the remapping.
The company said the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Size Classification Modifications
Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
Shopper Accounts
One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she said.
Manual Updates
A different user, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".
"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she explained.
Service Background
The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
